Associate Professor and Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
Researcher in statistical signal and image processing, Bayesian inverse problems, and model-based deep learning. Senior IEEE Member and EURASIP TAC member.
Dr. Abderrahim Halimi received the Eng. degree in Electronics in 2009 from the National Polytechnic School of Algiers, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Signal Processing in 2010 and 2013 from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INPT/IRIT).
He held Post-Doctoral positions at the University of Toulouse and the University of Technology of Troyes (2013–2015) under the HYPANEMA ANR Project, followed by a Post-Doctoral position at Heriot-Watt University (2015–2018).
He is currently an Associate Professor and Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University. His research focuses on statistical signal and image processing, Bayesian inverse problems, and model-based deep learning.
He is a Senior IEEE Member, elected member of EURASIP TACs: TMTSP (since 2019, currently vice-chair) and SPMuS (since 2022). Associate Editor for Elsevier-Signal Processing and IEEE-Signal Processing Letters and served for The Computer Journal and Elsevier-DSP.
PhD positions are available at the interface of computational imaging, statistical data processing, and deep learning (e.g., model-based deep learning, generative models). If interested, please send an email with a CV and a motivation letter to a [dot] halimi [at] hw [dot] ac [dot] uk.
